Real Life Craziness!

Yeah, it’s been a bit, I hear ya though. You want some Sylus, I guess I have to deliver. First, lets catch everyone up to speed. My daughter is three and a half months old(I’m not into dad-speak so I couldn’t tell you how many weeks). I’ve officially started my student teaching semester and am LOVING it. First graders are like trade chat in wow, but with less vulgarity and idiocy(almost like barrens chat, but a bit less sophisticated Chuck Norris jokes).

Now, I know 4theHorde has been pretty bare as well. Fikkle quit playing the wow, something about responsibility and such! Pie is running with another raiding guild on another server, which is great for him, I’m truly happy you are having fun with the game again there pie! Nim, well, Nim is Nim. He’s got his hand in many different projects, including a star wars table top game with yours truly. The Dude known as Slig, aka Gamedame, has been dominating fallout three(at least that’s what her rapotor/twitter account is always telling me!) So as you can see, not alot of 4theHorde worthy of posting atm… Well, I guess I did level tailoring up to get two more mounts throwing the Gozz total mount count to 85…. but I told you here, so I guess I’m off the hook for not posting it on 4theHorde!

As for me, I’ve had the pleasure of doing another recruit a friend with good ol’ Spiffie. See, Spiffie has been a real life friend of mine for years now. I got him hooked on the wow, and now he’s Jones’in for it as much as the rest of us. Thing is, He ended up leveling his hunter to 80 without any of my guidance. ( apparently he shuns the blog? I don’t know) Either way I felt that I wanted to do some real playing with him. So now we are about a week into our recruit a friend 90 days, and I have a 33 lock, he has a 32 warrior. I know I know, I’m ahead of him, I’m a jerk friend. whatever! We plan on getting these guys to 60, then starting over again. I’ll level a warrior, he’ll level a druid or something else, pally maybe. Our goal is to have 4 60 toons each out of this by the end of the 90 days. From there we’ll work on getting our favorites to 80. In the mean time I’ve been shuffling toons, deleting toons, and consolidating my wealth on Dawnbringer. I now have two guild banks, with a few pages each, and am working on leveling my priest during my little play time that Spiffie isn’t on as well. It’s all good, and he’ll be 80 sometime in the next ten years.

Well, I guess everyone that comes here kind of expects stupid pics and wierd stuffs, so let me leave you with a few random shots from the ol’ screenshot folder.

Star Wars Fever…

It’s got me bad boss, real bad! I’m back reading star wars novels, playing star wars games, and half considering throwing away my game time and trying galaxies one more time, sheesh! That game sucks, but I want some SWTOR SO BAD!!!! I’m reading Darthhater.com relidiously, trolling the star wars forums, searching my email for beta confirmation(yeah right, I can only dream) and waiting for the day a good star wars MMO comes live…. Until then I guess I’ll keep reading novels, comics and playing the other MMO, well, the ONLY MMO right now. WOW. Oh yeah, I did a guest blog for Armageddon, it was a blast, thanks for having me Gnomer! Now I’m gonna go finish Path of Darkness… GREAT BOOK!

Another Day Older

Yup, another day older, but today isn’t just any day. twenty nine years ago I burst into the world and I haven’t looked back! Yes folks, it’s my birthday. I’m not throwing it out there to get a ton of birthday wishes, in fact I hate that guy that spends his entire day telling everyone else it’s his birthday. He’s annoying. I’m posting this here to say a HUGE thanks to my wife, LadyGil. She is so awesome. I awoke this morning to the smell of French Toast and coffee! She doesn’t even drink coffee, and there it was brewed and smelling awesome for me. I got my present right at breakfast as well! A homemade card with cash in it, and an awesome shirt she ordered me from Blizzard.

I mean come on, this shirt rocks. Straight to the point, and it looks sharp too. Thanks hun, even if I have to work today you are doing a great job making this day awesome. You rock babe, thanks!

Oi

Heya guys. My fingers hurt. How the crap does a guy do ten push ups, and then every muscle in his body screams at him the next morning? Wow. I guess I was really out of shape. So yeah, I did my initial test for the push up program I’m starting next week… I did as many push ups as I could last night until they degraded into something other than a push up. The wife watched for me and kept me in check… I did ten. She was a slave driver. She didn’t even want to count number 10, so I had to redo it to show it had proper form! Drill sergeant smill-seargent…

So I went to bed feeling like a wuss, but also feeling pretty good that I was starting something to better myself physically. Then the morning came…

The alarm went off at 5:55, just like every other morning. I rolled over slowly to turn off the alarm, then started to get up… my stomach was soooo tight! I had to roll onto my side and push myself up with my arms…which burned worse than mcdonalds bacon. I drug myself across the hall into the bathroom and about died.

So needless to say this morning is off to a great start! Now, I’m actually starting the program sunday. I’m not wussing out, I swear! The program says to give yourself a few days to recover from the initial test…which said I can do 10 proper form push ups…I know I know, I’m a wuss…oi.

I’m Fat

I was forced to get a mandatory physical done today for my upcoming student teaching semester. Yay. I get to have a doc tell me I’m fat, have high blood pressure and need to wear my glasses. All things I know. Well folks, it’s time to change this.

A few months back I found an interesting website. It has to do with push ups. Yes, push ups. Interesting I know. You see, they have a program that will allow you to be able to do 100 consecutive push ups in six weeks. No matter where you are starting at. If you can only do 5 to start with, okay. They will get you there. we’ll see folks. I’m going to start this 6 week challenge this sunday. That gives me the rest of this week to figure out where I am at the beginning. Ya know, see how many this wuss of a guy can do consecutively. I’m going to say I can do 20 consecutively. That’s a fair guess.

Throughout the next six weeks I’ll be updating you with my progress and hopefully be getting a bit of encouragement from you folks. I think it’s time I started being a bit healthier than I have been. If this means some suffering and self-control, then so be it, it’s off to the races folks!

Art Plans

I have finally finished DotComLarry’s dranei Shaman for the contest over at 4theHorde. That was a blast, I’ll post the pic at 4theHorde tomorow after I stick the winning drawing in the mail(yay, I trust the postal service). Then I’ll be redoing my Mt. Hordemore photo I thought I had finished… I had, but I did it on the wrong paper, and this paper scans horribly into digital form, and looks trashy. Great origional piece, but crappy digital translation… Anyway, then, on to a special secret project… Don’t tell the short bearded stalker… Yeah, I see you over there, hiding behind that blogroll… yeah, you.

Anyway, I’ll get those all posted for you to see when I get them done, till then, stay classy, sassy and …um, glassy?

World of WORKcraft

OI! This week has been looooong. I’ve been getting little to no sleep, working a bit extra, and to top it all off my school workload the past two weeks has been HORENDOUS! I’ve spent way to many hours trudging through research for two key projects for the semester that came due this week.

This has left Sy a dull and worn out guy. Oh yeah, also the little one is two weeks old, and likes late nights more than her father. Of this I am sure! She really likes early mornings as well. I can’t complain about this though, as this morning was the only time I’ve played WOW all week!

I’m hoping to remedy this whole “no wow” problem this weekend. I do however want to give ladygil a bit of a break if I can. She’s been doing the overnight feedings as I have to drive to and from classes way to early in the morning( I leave about 6:20 and am use to not leaving the house until around 9ish). It’s working out, and I’m almost done. I found out where I will be doing my student teaching this week, so I see the light at the end of this very long tunnel! It’s out there, oh yes, I can see it… you see it don’t you? yeah, right there, that pinprick way out there…that sort of glowy spot? Well, who cares if you see it or not, it’s there!

Blog Bling!

Hey guys, I started drawing toons for people about a week back, and have had a blast setting up an etsy shop, working on some promo material(ya know, pimping my talent) and being super busy doing real life stuff. Now, I did end up selling my murloc Marine pet to pay for the markers to get going on this endeavour. (I had some, but just the basics)

Yes, I parted ways with my murloc space marine pet. It’s okay though, he’s a little annoying in my opinion. Some guy out there on the webs and wide open spaces of Ebay liked it so much, he paid me 80 bucks for it, woot! That bought me 20 or so markers. Woot. Copic markers guys, they are awesome.

Now, in doing some of my promo work to get the word out, I drew a TREE OF DOOM for Saresa over at Tree of Doom, and Destructive Reach. It’s a great place to have something featured, as she seems to get some serious traffic. Much more serious than I get here. I have to get the word out right? Right? I mean come on, I want to sell some art work here! Justify all of this hulabalu!

I have had a few questions, but no one seriously jumping at me yet. I’ll give it time, and I mean seriously, as long as I am having fun with it, it’s totally worth it to me! So go ahead, check out some of my work in previous posts, check out my work at Etsy, and if you see something you like, let me know. Who know’s maybe I’ll end up drawing something for you one day!

The Artist in Me is Out Again!

Sylus is doing custom toons for customers… Okay, so I’ve been hesitant to do this for a few reasons.

1. I hate deadlines.
2. I hate rejection.

See, deadlines on my hobbies turn them into not-hobbies. (yes, not-hobbies is in my dictionary.) I’ve loved to draw pretty much forever. Now my wife gets these amazing markers (copic) and I’m off to the races. I’ve had the pleasure of drawing some guildies up to this point, and now I’m ready to see if I can make a bit of pocket change out of the deal! 

You read that right. I’m selling hand drawn pictures of your world of warcraft toons! What better way to immortalize your favorite characters?(that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, I love you figure prints, I swear I do!) I’ve got a few images up at the moment, and I’ve even started an Etsy shop. My wife over at LadyGil got me started, and I have some for sale there as well.

 

For $20 dollars you will get a full color Custom Hand drawn and inked head/bust portrait done on 8-1/ class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”">2in x 11in acid free card stock.
($10 dollars for just black and white pen and ink)

For $25 dollars you get a black and white stylized armor set of your choice. If you have the screenshot, you can pretty much get any armorset. (35 for color armor set)
(armorset includes shoulders helmet, and horde/alliance symbol)

Now, for $35 dollars I can give you a full color toon pic. I’ll keep these interesting for sure! This image is of Nimrock’s dwarf hunter, who smokes and drinks too much. You will notice I left off the legs and feet, they were boring. If the screenshot I get is interesting, say a kneeling pose or something of the sort, then they get the full treatment! I’ll make them look as good as I can.
